Jason Blumberg of Energy Foundry

Named one of the top energy influencers in the world, Blumberg shared his insights about how entrepreneurs can make a difference in the fields of environment, sustainability and clean technology.

​He used co-panelist Wang’s NanoGraft Technologies, a leading advanced materials company in the energy storage space, as a case study of success. NanoGraf is developing the novel and only silicone-based anode on the market with applications ranging from consumer electronics to electric vehicles.

When fellows asked the two CEOs to provide advice for upcoming entrepreneurs, both Blumberg and Wang strongly encouraged them to vet their ideas, set realistic goals, and acquire paid customers — even during the pre-commercial stage. They encouraged the fellows to focus on alpha and beta testing with entities willing to pay for trials and get relevant feedback. Blumberg emphasized the importance of revolutionary ideas in the energy sector, including disruptive technology and/or business models, as well as having the right team in place.​
